Evert Jan Robberts

Evert Jan Robberts is a Tropical Beekeeping consultant, he focus on Giant Asian Bee honey, including sustainable harvesting, responsible processing, pollen identification, packaging, and marketing. Where possible, he lecture on sustainable forest honey harvesting, with a particular focus on the Mount Malindang National Parc area, where many honey hunters still remain active.

He use the sustainable harvesting protocol for forest honey to help them work toward forming their own organisation. He also aim to document pollen in forest honey from Mount Malindang to identify major pollen sources, their locations, regional honey yields, and the potential effects of deforestation linked to multiple eco-tourism projects in the protected area.

His current research focuses on how arbuscular and ectomycorrhizal fungi relate to pollinating insects. This information can be used in reforestation programs as some soil fungi thrive with certain tree species, influencing both nectar and pollen volume and quantity.
